I love helping writers create books they are proud of.
Writing a book comes with a lot of pressure. The publisher expects something great but you can’t be vulnerable with your editor and show them unfinished work and risk them losing confidence in you. You’re a good writer but when the stakes are high it’s smart to have a helping hand. You’d be surprised how many authors turn to book coaches for help. I’m an experienced author and editor who can help you make your project great.
Over the last two decades I’ve published five books. I’ve written three more that weren’t published. I’m currently at work on two more. In all of that I’ve run into almost every hurdle a writer could encounter from that blindness you get when you’ve seen the same pages too many times to writer’s block to feeling so much pressure that I think I’m about to lose my mind. I’ve been through every ditch and valley so I can help you through them.
If you’ve got a deal and you’re feeling the heat, I can help calm you down and get you churning. If you have a clear idea but don’t know where to begin, I can get you going. If you’ve written a lot but need someone to look at it with a critical eye, I can do that for you. And if you have an idea for a book but you want me to write it, we can talk about that, too. I’ll be the friend your book needs.
There’s nothing sweeter than ripping open a big, padded, orangey envelope and pulling out a crisp, clean, finished copy of a book you wrote. When you see your name on the cover and your picture on the jacket, your heart swells with pride. Publishing a book can be life-changing: it says you’re smart enough to have written a book and people care what you have to say. Even people who never read your book will respect you for having published one. A good book can get you on TV shows, it can get you speaking gigs, it can get you assignments to write essays—it can transform how other people see you. Create the best book you possibly can.
I can help all sorts of writers but I’m best at non-fiction and memoir. I have a lot of experience in those areas and that’s the type of writing I’m most passionate about.
If we decide to work together you’ll get tons of notes on your book, ideas on how to move forward creatively, writing advice, industry advice, promotional ideas, and time to talk through creative issues via phone and email. I’ll read your book and we’ll work together to make it great.
Your first consultation on the phone is free.
We can work on the manuscript for one month or several months. I can write a proposal for you or I can take on a larger role in the writing or editing or ghostwriting of your book. Email me and let’s see how we can make your book great.
